At long last a book devoted to the art of Regina Relang, surely the most important German fashion photography of the post-war era.This enchanting volume of photographs presents 160 of the best original photographs from the estate of Regina Relang (1906-1989). She began working for Vogue in 1938 and became one of the leading German fashion photographers in the fifties and sixties. Relang's spectacular photographs from fashion shoots at the haute couture presentations in Paris were featured twice a year in all of the major fashion journals in Germany.This book focuses on the fine vintage prints of her early reportages and her fashion photography of the fifties and sixties, while also providing insight into the historical background of her work. Not only do her photographs document the changing fashions of Christian Dior, Pierre Cardin, and Yves Saint-Laurent, they also trace the transformation of the image of woman in the mid-twentieth century.
