Vintage music buffs have long been bedazzled by the bizarre, cartoonish album covers tagged with the signature "Flora". In the 1940s and '50s, Jim Flora designed dozens of cover illustrations, featuring angular hepcats playing cock-eyed pianos and lollipop-shaped horns. While expressing a child like exuberance, these images had a sinister tinge of the grotesque about them. This is the first collection of these marvellous, mischievous album illustrations to be published, and it includes a biographical profile, interviews, photographs and tributes from old friends.
