Silkscreenprinted on handmade paper, Liberty commemorates a century of Surrealism. This English translation of Paul Eluard s well-known poem, Liberte, pays homage to the poet's early association with the Surrealist movement. Drawing from Surrealist imagery and ephemera, archival research and global politics, Rathna Ramanathan has created a unique assemblage of images, using typographic icons and signs.
